How far is Casa Yakunah from Cancun Airport?

The drive from Cancun usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Transportation to and from the airport is included.

What should I pack?

Casual, comfortable, and light clothing is best year round. The winter months can be cool at night so we recommend packing a light sweater or light jacket and long pants. Bathing suits, coverups, shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, sandals, and sun protective clothing, hats, and sunscreen are recommended. We provide insect repellent and bath amenities including shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.

Linens, beach towels, hair dryer, and robes are provided.

What are the meals like?

All meals and snacks are prepared by a professional chef using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. We will work with you before and during your visit to ensure that the menu is to your liking. We take special consideration of food restrictions or allergies guests may have and will customize your menu accordingly.

Are alcoholic beverages included?

Yes, a limited house menu of alcoholic beverages is included. Beer, wine (red, white, and sparkling), and a selection of spirits are available. Specialty liquors, beer, or wines not on the house menu may be added at additional cost.

Is there laundry service at Casa Yakunah?

Our staff will be happy to send your clothes out for laundry service for a minimal fee. We do not offer on site laundry or dry cleaning. We are not responsible for damage to clothes including fragile or expensive garments. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for return of laundered clothing.

What is the weather like in Sian Kaan Mexico?

Generally the dry season runs from November thru May. You may or may not experience rainy days during these months. The humidity is lower. Nights during the winter months of December through February can be cool.  June through October is the rainy season with an increase in both humidity and rain.

How far is Casa Yakunah from the bars and restaurants of Tulum Beach and the town of Tulum?

Casa Yakunah is ideal for those looking to get away from it all. However, getting to the beach restaurants or town is easy. We are located 7 km into the reserve, which is generally a 15 minute drive to the beach bars and restaurants, or a 30 minute drive to Tulum pueblo. Transportation to and from town or beach restaurants can be arranged at additional cost.

Can I drink the water?

Not at this time. Potable water is trucked in from town and stored in large tanks on site. Meaning it is perfectly fine for showering but not drinking. Purified/bottled water is plentiful and readily available at all times to guests for drinking and brushing teeth.

Is the house air conditioned?

The bedrooms each have air conditioning units. The ocean breeze is natures air conditioning and keeps the main living area cool. Since a/c’s are energy intensive, air conditioning should only be used when bedrooms are occupied.
